A Visit to a Wet Valley

I never saw a wet valley like I did in May of 2017. I have, by no means, set the record for the number of times I’ve been to Yosemite. I am, by no means, a connoisseur of Yosemite Valley climatology. I know, by no means, all the landscapes there are to become familiar in the valley. Nevertheless, I was stunned by what I saw the weekend of May 7, 2017.

Falling in Yosemite

Autumn Chapel By Jeff Kreider

Capturing the Fall Foliage in the Valley is difficult because it is difficult from me to get there without a lot of planning. To find the color in the Valley to coincide with may actual stay has been problematical. The Grand Puh-Bah of my efforts came to fruition in October of 2006.

Yosemite in July

This was a quick trip to Yosemite for an assignment. Primarily for night sky photos, I also visited some of the standard haunts. I was gratified to see and meet Lee Stetson, who, has for over 35 years, portrayed John Muir at the park.

Back to the Park

There is always something (it seems) I need to research. I have been trying to get back to the park since November, but things just kept getting in the way. Though I still have stuff to research, I was treated to a nice day of photography

Driving Yosemite Valley

inspiration-point

If you only have one day to enjoy the park, the Valley is the place to be. It is seven square miles of the most scenic visits anywhere. The Valley is about seven mile long and about a mile wide. There are many places to stop and soak it in. In this post I take you around the valley from one of the valley’s entrances (on Wawona Road after exiting the Wawona Tunnel). Come with me for a drive around the valley. I’ll point out some photo-ops along the way.
