I never saw a wet valley like I did in May of 2017. I have, by no means, set the record for the number of times I’ve been to Yosemite. I am, by no means, a connoisseur of Yosemite Valley climatology. I know, by no means, all the landscapes there are to become familiar in the valley. Nevertheless, I was stunned by what I saw the weekend of May 7, 2017.
Remembering the Old Yosemite Village
I took a friend through the valley and Wawona for her first visit since 1956. A lot of changes have occurred in the last 60 years.
Photos of El Capitan
There are a number of “iconic” sights around the park and the valley to photograph. A few of them I can’t help but snap every time I visit. One of them is El Capitan.
Is That What It Really Looked Like?
“To manipulate or not manipulate,” that is the question. Or is it? Is it really “fair” to modify or enhance an image in Post Production? Doesn’t that take away from the very nature of Photography? Isn’t that “cheating”?
Back to the Park
There is always something (it seems) I need to research. I have been trying to get back to the park since November, but things just kept getting in the way. Though I still have stuff to research, I was treated to a nice day of photography
The Pohono Trail Wish
There are a number of hikes I haven’t had the opportunity to take. One that interests me is the Pohono Trail, which runs down from Glacier Point along the south rim to the valley floor at Tunnel View.
Driving Yosemite Valley
If you only have one day to enjoy the park, the Valley is the place to be. It is seven square miles of the most scenic visits anywhere. The Valley is about seven mile long and about a mile wide. There are many places to stop and soak it in. In this post I take you around the valley from one of the valley’s entrances (on Wawona Road after exiting the Wawona Tunnel). Come with me for a drive around the valley. I’ll point out some photo-ops along the way.

About This Site
Hello, my name is Jeff Kreider. I snapped my first photograph in Yosemite December 24, 1979. Over the years it has become a passion. It is hard NOT to get inspired by the beauty of this park. This park is more than mere scenic opportunities; it is a virtual wonderland wrought by yesteryear. It is my goal to use this site to share, not only my experiences and photos, but also some of its history and the tales of those who forged it.Recent Posts
